This is part of an extension of a project I’ve been working on for about two years. The original manuscript was novella length and was written in third-person, my latest cut of the project is written in first person, from the point-of-view of a mentally disabled man whose murder of a 16-year-old girl has explosive consequences. It’s probably the most fucked up thing I’ve ever written.I’d describe it as what would happen if “Flowers for Algernon” and “Psycho” had a love child. Unsurprisingly, there is a lot of controversial subject matter in the manuscript, including racism, homophobia, pedophilia, domestic violence, and incest.
